The City of Grande Prairie is pleased to host the 2018 Meeting of the Francophone and Francophile Cities Network September 5th – 7th, 2018.
We hope that you will join us for the 3 days of learning and collaboration. We propose to explore our theme of fostering the Francophone culture within our Anglophone communities. Presentation highlights will include Bonnie Doon, Edmonton’s unique French Quarter, the new implementation of the Alberta’s first French Policies and the creation of a Provincial Francophone Advisory Council. A full conference agenda will be made available this summer.
The 2018 Mid-Term Meeting will be held in the beautiful Teresa Sargant Hall at the Montrose Cultural Centre, Grande Prairie’s epicenter for art and culture. Grande Prairie is well situated as the economic hub for the northwestern region of Alberta. Located at the crossing of highways 2, 40 and 43, the City is at 450 km from Edmonton via Highway 43, approximately a 4,5 hour drive. For guests from further abroad, the region is served by the Grande Prairie Airport with six daily inbound flights from Edmonton and Calgary on both WestJet and Air Canada. Daily bus service from Edmonton is also available through Greyhound.
